Tanzania is situated on the eastern part of Africa. Tanzania is famous for tourism and wildlife. It is also a good source of greenery and mountainous view and it settles down on the shore of Indian Ocean. The southern part of Tanzania is comprised of game reserve and national parks. They are three national parks and three game reserves in southern Tanzania.

Firstly, Selous Game Reserve which covers an area of 55,000 sq. km and it is the largest Reserve in Tanzania. This beautiful reserve is full of wildlife and a home to the largest elephant population in Tanzania. In addition, the Reserve is crammed with herds of buffalos, different kinds of antelope including impala, greater kudu, sable antelope, waterbucks, elands & reedbucks. The most common ones are wild dogs, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards and one can be lucky enough to find a Rhino. Furthermore, Selous is lined with Rufiji River which makes the Reserve an exquisitely scenic. The best ways to explore the reserve is by going on for a boat safari on the Rufiji River and get a view of hippos, crocodiles and other water animals. Moreover, contrasting other parks in Tanzania, the game can be viewed by walking across the river and go through the bush accompanied by an armed and experienced ranger.

The second largest national park in Tanzania is Ruaha National Park. It is located on Central Tanzania, 80 miles west of Iringa region. Ruaha is populated with 10,000 elephants and other famous wild animals include antelopes, lions, rhinos, wild dogs and many more. The park is famous for bird watchers and it has a wide range of ecosystem. The name Ruaha is derived from Great Ruaha River which flows through the park for game viewing.

The third park is Mikumi National Park which is approx. 300km drive from Dar es salaam City. The park covers the area of 3,230km. Although the park is not very big, one can experience wildlife of lifetime and it is frequently visited by locals and tourists.

Lastly, Udzungwa Mountain National Park known as Eastern Arc Mountains spans an altitude of 250 metres. In spite of its unadventurous activity, the Udzungwa is charismatic for hikers. It has got an excellent forest trail which includes the trendy walk to Sanje Waterfalls.

The other two game reserves are Kisigo Game Reserve and Rungwe Game Reserve which are close to Ruaha National Park.

Overall, accommodation is available at all the above mentioned national parks and reserves. They are beautiful and comfortable lodges with good facilities.
